Job Description: Digital Marketing Assistant

The Digital Marketing Assistant serves as the operational engine for a marketing team or business owner. Your goal is to translate high-level marketing strategy into daily executable tasks. You will manage social media platforms, assist in email marketing efforts, perform routine SEO maintenance, and compile performance reports that guide future campaign decisions. You are comfortable moving between creative design tasks and analytical data reporting, ensuring that the brand’s online presence remains active, engaging, and professional.

Key Responsibilities

  • Social Media Management: Create, schedule, and publish content across platforms (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, TikTok) using tools like Meta Business Suite, Buffer, or Hootsuite.
  • Content Support: Assist in drafting blog posts, email newsletters, and ad copy. Design basic graphics and assets using Canva or Adobe Express.
  • SEO & Web Maintenance: Update website content (WordPress, Shopify, etc.), conduct basic keyword research, and monitor broken links or page performance.
  • Email Marketing: Set up and manage automated email sequences and newsletter blasts in platforms like Mailchimp, Klaviyo, or ConvertKit.
  • Performance Reporting: Track KPIs across marketing channels, compile weekly/monthly performance reports, and identify trends in audience engagement.
  • Lead Generation Support: Assist in managing lead funnels, setting up basic landing pages, and coordinating with the sales/operations team on incoming queries.
  • Market Research: Keep up to date with digital marketing trends and perform competitor audits to identify content or engagement opportunities.

Full Requirements

Core Skills & Technical Proficiency

  • Platform Expertise: Proficiency in Canva for design, Meta Business Suite for social scheduling, and Google Analytics/Search Console for data tracking.
  • Content Writing: Ability to write clear, concise, and persuasive copy that aligns with the brand’s “voice.”
  • Technical Savviness: Familiarity with WordPress, Shopify, or WIX. Experience with basic automation tools like Zapier is a significant advantage.
  • Analytical Mindset: Comfortable using Excel/Google Sheets to track campaign results and draw actionable insights from data.
  • Creative Execution: A strong eye for visual detail and an understanding of what drives engagement (likes, clicks, conversions).

Qualifications & Environment

  • Experience: 1–3 years of experience in social media management, digital marketing, or content creation.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or a related field (or equivalent professional experience).
  • Communication: Exceptional written English and a strong command of modern digital communication styles.
